Widening the scope

Optimising performance by skilful airspace design and air traffic management without considering national borders is the key objective of FABEC – as laid down in the FABEC Treaty. This objective is based on the conviction that a sustainable improvement of performance can only be achieved if the airspace of the FABEC States and their associated air traffic flows and connections to airports are understood as a network.

In principle, a network can only be improved if all activities – be it in daily operations or in projects, be it local, regional or FABEC-wide – are accounted for and balanced. In addition, cooperation within FABEC also creates opportunities to improve operations at the intra-FABEC borders. Based on this conviction, we are continuously aiming to improve performance in terms of safety, capacity and punctuality, flight efficiency and military mission effectiveness.
