SESAR

Within the framework of the Single European Sky, the SESAR initiative plays a crucial role as it develops and provides new technologies aimed to support air navigation service providers and other stakeholders within the aviation branch. That is why FABEC ANSPs cooperate on SESAR deployment and on a coordinated, efficient and harmonised implementation of SESAR air traffic management functionalities. The common work is based on transparency, efficiency and coherence. Within the external context are contributing with a joint FABEC representation.
Besides the engagement of the ANSPs in the SESAR programme, the current FABEC goal is principally the timely implementation of projects defined in the EU Regulation on the establishment of the Pilot Common Project. Two large-scale projects – Cross-border Arrival Management (XMAN) and free route airspace (FRA) – are currently under the FABEC umbrella. Both are funded by the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) of the European Commission.
